DIY Upcycled T-shirt Yarn with Amy (REUSE/RECYCLE) Thursday 16th of April 6-8 PM
With around 180,000 tonnes of textiles ending up in New Zealand landfills every year, this workshop is a chance to give your old T-shirt a second life.
Instead of throwing away that ripped or worn-out T-shirt, come and make it into something new. Learn how to make cordage that you can use for odd household jobs, in the garden or even to craft something completely new!
Once we have made your yarn, we will learn how to crochet it into useful items like a dishcloth, bag or hair band.
It’s a simple, creative way to reduce waste, learn a new skill, and turn an old garment into something you can use again.
You will need to bring:
An old t-shirt. A shirt without side seams works best.
